Room for larger photographs
A 500 KB limit can preserve a useful amount of detail in web photographs. Very large originals may still need resizing. WebP can be worth trying when the destination explicitly accepts it.
What happens to image quality?
For ordinary-size JPG and WebP output, UploadMint tests several quality levels and keeps the highest tested quality that fits. Full-resolution large HEIC-to-JPG output keeps your selected quality and may stop if it cannot meet the cap. PNG is lossless, so a smaller PNG may require fewer pixels.
What if 500 KB is too small?
