Save a transparent WebP as PNG
Choose a still WebP file; PNG is already selected. Leave No fixed dimensions and No limit selected, choose Prepare Image, then download the PNG. Transparent and partly transparent areas stay transparent; conversion does not remove an opaque background.
PNG keeps decoded pixels, not lost detail
PNG avoids another lossy compression step after WebP decoding. It cannot restore detail already lost in the source. PNG is useful for graphics, text and cutouts, but a photograph can produce a much larger PNG than its WebP original.
If your PNG exceeds an upload limit
Check whether the destination accepts WebP before converting. For a PNG-only requirement, use only the pixel dimensions you need; PNG has no lossy quality slider here. For an opaque photo where JPEG is accepted, try WebP to JPG and compare the result.
Your image stays with you
UploadMint processes supported images in your browser. Your image is not uploaded to a processing server, and no account is needed. Closing the page clears the working image.
